In a time when fashions in art date faster than the speed limit. Peter Moore’s paintings endure and provide a felicitous blend of thought, beauty and wit – with a touch of wilful perversity.

Nevertheless , few will leave Peter Moore’s show looking as though they have been walking home in a ditch. Happily, Moore engages viewers with his prodigal use of colour inscriptions and iconographic design. His elegant visual statements, reminiscent of palimpsests are those best of statements - they are life embracing, witty and provocative.

Moore’s work is testament to the somewhat curious proposition that occasionally some words, apart from their meaning, can themselves be arresting symbols and can expand the jurisdiction of language.
