British artist born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, north-east England. He studied at the Slade in London,
but his time at Newcastle Art School working with Richard Hamilton and Victor Pasmore was the more formative experience.

His daytime jobs have ranged from ground staff for BEA at the former West London air terminal - "work in those days was fun", to paint master for TVC on cartoon feature "Where The Wind Blows" - with two totally different colour palettes: before and after the bomb.

His catholic interests have included music composition, building musical instruments
; philosophy; Buddhism both Tibetan and Japanese; and the human animal in all his guises at work and play.
